In a major boost to Hindu spiritual and cultural heritage, the Bihar government has approved the allotment of 10.11 acres of prime land in Patna’s Mokama Khas area to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) for the construction of a magnificent Sri Venkateswara Temple. The land has been provided on a 99-year lease at a symbolic annual rent of just ₹1, reflecting the State’s deep respect for Hindu faith, tradition, and centuries-old spiritual culture.
This decision has been warmly welcomed by devotees across India, especially in the eastern region, where access to large, iconic temples of Lord Venkateswara is limited. For millions of Hindus who revere Lord Balaji as a symbol of hope, prosperity, and dharma, the upcoming temple marks a historic moment.
For decades, TTD has been working toward expanding the presence of Lord Venkateswara’s temples across India. This is part of its mission to spread the message of Sanatana Dharma, strengthen spiritual consciousness, and ensure that the rich traditions of Hinduism remain accessible to devotees everywhere. The move was conveyed through a formal letter from Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit to TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu. Leaders from Andhra Pradesh, including Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister N. Lokesh, celebrated the decision as one that deepens cultural harmony and brings a sacred connection between the two states.
TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu expressed deep gratitude, stating that this gesture highlights Bihar’s commitment to cultural inclusivity and its respect for Hindu devotion. He added that TTD teams will soon begin consultations with the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation to initiate the temple’s planning and construction.
